Where to go and what to do in Madrid:
Madrid is 600 metres above sea level, and has four million inhabitants. Being the capital of Spain, this city has an almost infinite variety of attractions, including selected visits to famous monuments, and expeditions to discover emblems of the Community.
Everything is easily accessible from the Hotel. By bus or metro (stations Sol, Callao, Gran Vía etc.) one can go anywhere, and the railway station of Atocha is within easy reach. From these stations you can catch the famous AVE, as well as suburban services, and long-distance lines to the rest of Spain.
Within Madrid:
Significant Institutions and Buildings: Many tourists go round the museums eager to learn more about this city, by visiting famous emblems of Madrid such as the Santiago Bernabéu and Vicente Calderón stadiums, The Royal Palace, the Royal Theatre, The Opera Theatre, the San Jerónimo El Real church, the Campo del Moro, the Temple of Debod, the Plaza de España, the Plaza Mayor, the Gran Vía, the Latina, the markets of San Miguel and Fuencarral, the Puerta del Alcalá, the Retiro Park, and the fountains at Las Cibeles and Neptuno.
Museums: A great deal of culture and fine art can be found in the internationally prestigious Museum del Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemisza, the Reina Sofía, the Naval Museum, The Madrid Waxwork Museum (Museo de Cera), the Natural Science Museum, the Railway Museum and the Sorolla Collection which is housed in the artist’s own home. All these are accessible from our hotel.
