El Día de la Música 2011

The Matadero Madrid will be the stage for an event on 18th and 19th and June. It’s part of the Day of Music 2011. The festival will use two different stages, Ufi and Matadero Madrid. The ticket price will be 15 Euros per a whole day, although there is also a two day pass for 24 Euros.

Some of the bands and artists that will introduce the festival on Saturday will be The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Toro y Moi, Wild Beasts and Anna Calvi. Although, the main performance will be that of Vetusta Morla, the band from Madrid.

Vetusta Morla is a new discovery for the music scene of Spain, thanks to itsunmistakable style, its alternative rock and great lyrics. Last May 2011 they released their second CD, Mapas, (maps). With this latest CD they come up on the lists as the symbol of successful Indie music.

On Sunday 19th the programme of the Day of Music 2011 will prepare us a succulent menu leaded by Russian Red, and with other important national and international bands like Destroyer, John Grant, Lykke Li, Yuck and Ron Sexsmith.
