3 exceptional slopes for skiing in Madrid

Whether you are a professional or an amateur, the two closest alpine ski resorts to Madrid that we recommend are Navacerrada and Valdesquí. Are you a beginner? Don't worry, we also show you the ideal place to learn to ski in Madrid or perfect your technique at any time of the year:

Navacerrada
Only an hour by car or public transport separates the centre of Madrid from the Ski Resort of Puerto de Navacerrada, a mountain pass located at an altitude of 1,858 metres.

If you want to ski in Madrid, here you can 'get rid of the bug', because you can enjoy more than 14 km of skiable surface spread over 16 slopes of all levels, divided into two different environments: one in a high area, which runs along the slope of the one known as Alto de Guarramillas; and another in a lower level, located in the middle of a pine forest.

In addition, the station has a cross-country ski track and a sledging area, where you can enjoy with the whole family and make snowmen.

Valdesqui
This ski resort, located in the Guadarrama Mountains at an altitude of 2,280 metres, is also just over an hour from the centre of Madrid, and can be reached both by car and by public transport from the hotel itself.

Valdesquí has the largest ski area in the region: 22.24 kilometres, and is designed for both professional and beginner skiers. It has a total of 28 slopes (7 green, 16 blue and 5 red) and 15 lifts. It is one of the favourites for skiing in Madrid, since its position facing north means that the snow remains of good quality for longer.

Madrid SnowZone
Skiing in Madrid is also possible throughout the year. Where? In Madrid SnowZone, the only indoor snow slope in Spain and one of the largest in the world, located in the Intu Xanadú Shopping and Leisure Center, less than an hour away from Puerta del Sol.

It is the ideal place for those who want to learn to ski, perfect their technique or practice their favourite sport every month of the year, without worrying about the weather.

It has 18,000 square metres of slopes, divided into two: a main one 250 metres long and 55 wide for experienced skiers, which even has a ski lift and even its own chair lift; and an initiation one, 100 metres long and 40 metres wide with less inclination.
